Electric Barbarella
Duran Duran
as a name? Wherever did they get that? Ah..well..any sincere Durannie would know the answer to that question. It would be:
from the 1968 movie : Barbarella. In the movie, there is an evil scientist who goes by the name of : (yeahhh, you guessed
it ) Duran Duran. This movie was only one of the many influences for the group, and was their stepping stone
to what was to be a basis for their blatant individuality. If there is anyone reading this who has not yet seen the movie,
heh well..you are in for a trip. I will not go into any details, but as to say that this film has joined the ranks of The
Rocky Horror Picture Show, and many other others as an undoubted cult classic would be a severe understatement. It
will be one of the oddest movies you will ever see, but trust me, it WILL grow on you, and before long, you will have the
desire to watch it ,(if even for only a few minutes) whenever it should air on television or elsewhere. Enjoy this page dedicated
to the film that if not created, the group that we love oh so well would prolly be called umm..."The Horny Hotties"? Or even
worse,it was the beginning of the 80's, they could have gotten stuck with something like "The British Dudes from Like Britain.
